Early Years Clarkson and Joondalup Partnership Project: Building Family Friendly practice and Mental Health awareness. This project has now concluded althought the work continues.

What is the Early Years Partnership Project)?

The Clarkson and Merriwa Early Years Action group are supporting a partnership between Joondalup Mental Health Inpatient Unit, and a variety of community based chidlren and family services. The project supports services to understand and respond early to the needs of children and the family where a parent is experiencing mental health issues.

What does the Early Years Partnership Project do?

The project enables each service to consider their current practice around children, families and mental health; reciprocal professional development and the involvement of local focus groups to ensure that the diverse needs of the community, including Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, are understood and responded to appropriately.

Family friendly and mental health friendly resources and training sessions are developed and delivered throughout the life of the project and will be 'transportable' to other regions.
