Chairperson: Denzil McCotter
Denzil is a Registered Psychologist who has worked for 26 years in the State Government, 20 at executive level. She is the Chair of the Child Death Review Committee, Deputy Chair Prisoner Review Board, Member of Public Housing Review Panel and Adjunct Research Fellow Curtin Uni. Denzil has a B.A (Hons) Psychology; M.Sc (Abnormal Psych.), and a Ph.D (Social Work and Admininstration).

Director: Justin O'Meara Smith
Justin O’Meara Smith is the General Manager of Support Services at Mosaic Community Care; a Not-for-Profit organisation providing accommodation and supports for people with disabilities in Perth. Justin has developed a broad understanding of the community services environment through employment as the Research & Project Development Manager at Therapy Focus, PR and Fundraising Manager at the Association for the Blind of WA, and Foundation and Alumni Relations Manager at Curtin University. Justin holds a BA (Political Science), Postgraduate Diploma Business (Management) and Master of Business Administration, is a Fellow of Leadership Western Australia, and a Civil Marriage Celebrant.

Richard is a non-executive director of several organisations, including three small software companies. He is an ICT Consultant specializing in software development of Internet-based solutions. He is also the President of the WA Internet Association. He holds a Master of Information Systems (Curtin), and a Bachelor of Applied Science (WAIT).

Lori is a Management Consultant providing services in cultural transformation, leadership development and executive coaching. She has been a Ruah Director since May 2009.

Melanie is a partner with Freehills, providing legal advice in the area of project delivery. She is a member of the Freehills Foundation Board. In addition to being a Director of Ruah, Melanie sits on the Big Issue Advisory Committee in Western Australia.

Director: Ken Pendergast
Ken is a partner in the Perth of Ernst & Young and has over 20 years experience in providing financial and corporate advice to clients. Ken has previously been a member of one of the advisory committees set up by the local chamber of commerce and is a strong supporter of the initiatives organised by the Ernst & Young Foundation, including the St Vinnie’s Homework Centre.

Director: Angela Fielding
Angela is a Social Worker and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work at Curtin University, where she teaches in the social work program, supervises research students, and conducts research particularly in the areas of refugee and migrant health and resettlement; cultural diversity and multiculturalism; communities; and evidence informed practice. She has been Head of Department since 2008. This followed many years of practice experience in the non-government sector, developing health and settlement services with refugees resettling in Australia; in the State health system; and in the Commonwealth public service. She holds a BA, BSocWk, and Ph D from the University of WA.

Director: Jacqueline Minney
Jacqueline is a Yamatji Malgana woman from the Shark Bay area of Western Australia. She has a strong commitment to working within the Indigenous (Australian) Affairs arena to bring about sustainable social change for the Western Australian community. Jacqueline has worked with many corporate organizations as a mentor and liaison for Aboriginal people. Jacqueline has also volunteered her time to Aboriginal communities. Her time with both the corporate organizations and various communities’ has been focused on building sustainable solutions for key issues that the Aboriginal communities are faced with.
Jacqueline is committed to a sustainable approach to closing the disparity between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Australian people. A person of action, Jacqueline launched Opportunities Without Boundaries (OWB) in January 2011. OWB is a privately funded and owned company working towards Indigenous Engagement throughout the broader Western Australian community.
