Mental Health Services

Ruah has been contracted as a mental health service provider since 1993 and has been on a progressive journey of development and innovation, accumulating extensive knowledge and skills. Ruah provides a flexible, consumer friendly, community recovery oriented services which encourages consumer involvement.

Over 15 years a comprehensive range of psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery support, employment support and peer-led community based mental health programs have been developed under the agency names of Ruah Inreach and Ruah Workright together forming Ruah Mental Health.


Current Ruah Inreach key service delivery teams are (see Employment Services section for Ruah Workright):

  • Four locally based teams providing psychosocial and recovery support to individuals and families
  • Metropolitan wide intensive team working with homeless people with a mental illness
  • Early Episode Partnership program in Rockingham
  • Specialist Recreation Program operating in the lower Northern Suburbs
  • Peer programs of Urban Network and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)

Ruah Inreach is also party to innovation projects such as enhancing service delilvery for children of parents with a mental illness(COPMI) and through promoting and developing improved services delivery practices, workforce development, systemic change and community capacity building work.

Ruah is also conducting a five year longtitudinal research project that aims to contribute to evidence based practices in supporting mental health recovery.
