What is the Ruah Centre?
The Ruah Centre is a multi-use day centre located in the inner city, that provides drop-in facilities, showers, specialised support services, training and small group programs.

Who can come to the Ruah Centre?
The Ruah Centre is a service for all disadvantaged men and women who:
- are over the age of 20 years
- are on a low income
- are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- have mental health issues
- have problematic alcohol or substance use issues
- are socially isolated
- have any other needs or issues
All are welcome regardless of culture, background, religion, beliefs, sexuality or disability.
What services does the Ruah Centre offer?
Drop-in (9am-1pm) offers a safe, relaxed and friendly environment, where people can sit, talk, read or watch TV, while waiting to receive assistance and support.
Tea and coffee is available for free from 9.30am - 1pm.
Showers are available free from 9.00am - 12.45pm. There are three male, two female and one disabled shower. (A towel and soap/shampoo are supplied).
Crisis assistance (9am - 2pm) is provided by workers to help and support people with practical problems, referrals and advocacy.
People are helped to get support & service in all areas of their lives, including:
Accommodation & housing
Centrelink & income support
Health services for mental illness
Drug and alcohol services
Legal matters
Medical assistance
Employment & recreation
Relationships with family & children
Spirituality and pastoral care
Transport: People are assisted with transport and support to attend appointments.
Outreach: People are visited and support is offered for managing day-to-day issues and problems.
Cooking skills: Free cooking lessons are offered with food provided. Participants are welcome to eat the meal at the Centre and/or take it home.
Hands on Health: Volunteers visit the Centre and offer regular Ruah Centre consumers a range of health services.
Outreach - Private Rental Housing: Individuals and families are supported to make a successful transition from homelessness to stable private rental housing in the Perth metropolitan area.

The Ruah Centre is located at 33 Shenton St, Northbridge.
How to access the Ruah Centre
Many people self-refer by visiting the Centre or phoning first. Referrals from other agencies are also accepted via telephone.
